FAQ

  • Am I a good fit for camp?

Elite Running Camp is for high school runners who are currently training at a fairly high level—those who are focused on running in college and beyond.

Requirements for camp are runners who are training at the following level and standards at the time of camp:

    1. Running 45+ miles a week

    2. Sub 5 min Mile or Sub 10:15 3200m PR

    3. No current injuries

Campers who apply to attend will be reviewed and notified of acceptance prior to official registration and payment.

  • Do I have to be able to run a certain pace?

Campers are ideally able to do their general mileage between 7:30-6:45/mile pace.  We will split runners into groups to coincide with their current training paces. If 7:30-6:45 min per mile is closer to your race pace, you need a bit more time to develop before coming to this camp.

Mornings begin with a group run or workout tailored to the athletes' training needs, followed by an emphasis on recovery. Afternoon sessions typically include a second run or workout, varying in intensity based on the day’s focus and athlete readiness.

Technical sessions led by coaches cover key aspects of elite distance running, including race tactics, pacing strategies, injury prevention, progressive mileage building, and the crucial roles of nutrition and sleep in performance and recovery.

Afternoons also feature strength training, recovery activities, and interactive coaching discussions, followed by downtime for relaxation or fun. Evenings may include guest speakers, group discussions, or team-building activities, fostering both motivation and camaraderie among athletes.
